I did a review of Professional Codeigniter last year, it's more of an introduction to CI! for coders who know PHP and are looking to try out a framework. There is some interesting stuff on Aglie programming, but I wish there had been some more in-depth coverage of Codeigniter's benefits versus other frameworks.

I don't agreewith you , I 've found the book very interesting , not in the "code" itself but in the way I've been introduced to CI.

It’s not for people who want a user guide but who need to understand the way CI works.

i agree with you, i expressed the same sentiment on twitter a few months ago. it felt like they used the emphasis on agile development, and the in depth conversations with Claudia as filler to make a certain page length. the packt book while not pefect is much better, even though it still glosses over some keypoints of the framework.

For a relative newbie to both PHP and CI, I found this book to be pretty good (not taking into consideration the typos and code errors that tend to creep into every book out there). I especially like the example-based approach the author took, instead of an abstract one broken down by features and capabilities.

Would you like to present at our PHP Meetup? Specifically... introduce CodeIgnitor to the Singapore PHP developer community.
